Q. How long have you been creating your artwork ?
A. It started about 11 years ago after taking a long look into the way we as plumber's do piping systems. To me they look like abstract or modern artwork. Most people don't ever see there piping systems and sometimes it is a shame that we let the other tradesmen cover-up our work.
Q. With the price of copper being so outrageous, how can you afford to do your artwork ?
A. Well with a lot of friends who donate, and actually copper is not the most expensive material in my artwork. It is the silver brazing rods and cutting tools that cost the most.
Q. Why don't you sell your artwork online or to others ?
A. I do sell some pieces from time to time and would like to sell more but my main goal is to donate to worthy charities.
Q. Who are some of the charities you have donated to ?
A. Some recent charities are : Central Catholic St. Nicholas School, Grad Night 2008 - Fort Zumwalt West Hight School, Gateway Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Graham Academy of Irish Dance, Stray Rescue of St. Louis, Colchester Land Trust, CHAMP Assistance Dogs, Inc., 6th Annual Circus Flora, Central Institute for the Deaf, American Lung Association. to name a few .
Q. Is it hard for you to depart with your artwork ?
A. Sometimes yes and sometimes no. If I kept everything I made, I would need to buy a bigger house.
Q. What inspires your artwork ?
A. People, places, past events in my life, but mainly I just open my mind and let my hands take over. This is easy to do in my workshop with the music playing.
Q. Can you make items tailored to individuals taste ?
A. Yes , if someone would like me to create a piece of artwork that is not shown on the website, please feel free to contact me.
Q. How much does your artwork usually sell for ?
A. They sell anywhere from $75 to $5000 . Not including Shipping and Handling
Q. How long does it take to make a piece of artwork ?
A. Usually 4 to 6 weeks , but at times I get what you would say a art block , and I must stop until I truly feel that I can go on with a piece and finish it.
